Mount Abu is the highest peak in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan in western India which has a height of about 1722 mtrs above sea level. It is recognized as the 'an oasis in the desert', as it is home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests. The town of Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan. Mt. Abu is very beautiful hill station with cultural sites. It is one of the best tourist’s destinations in Rajasthan. It has been a popular retreat from the heat of Rajasthan and neighboring Gujarat for centuries.
Mount Abu is home to a numerous Jain temples. Nakki Lake is too a famous tourist destination in Mount Abu. The Durga temple, Ambika Mata Temple are situated in a cleft of rock in Jagat on the outer part of the Mount Abu. Mt. Abu is also the home of different religious places like Dilwara temple, Durga temple Ambila Mata temple, Adhar Devi temple, Shri Raghunath Ji temple and Dattatreya. The Achalgarh fort includes several Jain temples and Hindu temples. Tourists can see sun set that looks very charming and beautiful and also attracts tourists. It is also one of the most listed tourists’ destinations in India. The oldest temple of these is the Vimal Vasahi temple, built in 1031 AD by Vimal Shah and dedicated to the first of the Jain Tirthankaras. Tourists can observe different hills mountains, religious places and different culture.
The adjacent railway station is at Abu Road, around 27 km southeast of Mount Abu. The station is one of the major Indian Railways line between Delhi and Ahmedabad. Mt. Abu can be reached by car bus and somehow by plane too. Tourists can travel Mt. Abu in cars bus rickshaw etc. So, enjoy your journey to the fullest. |
