Shekhawati is a semi-arid historical region located in the northeast part of Rajasthan, India. It is also the directorial head quarters of Jhunjhunu and Sikar. The residents of Shekhawati are considered as courageous, sacrificing and hard working people. The region provides the largest number of persons to the Indian Army. Its area is about 13784 sq Kms . Shekhawati in the desert area of Rajasthan has a special importance in the history of India Shekhawati was established by Shekhawat Rajput and it was ruled by them till India's Independence.

Shekhawati which means Garden of Shekha is home of colorful peacockand parrots. Shekhawats built many glorious forts in their Thikanas. The towns of Shekhawati region are also known for their decorated havelis. This region has been recognized as the "open art gallery of Rajasthan" having the largest concentration of frescos in the world. Most of the buildings of the Shekhawati region were built during 18th century to early 20th century. Some of the famous Marwari industrial houses are as follows: Bagari, Bajaj, Birla, Chandgothia, Dalmia, Didwania, Ganeriwal and Goyanka etc. Villages and towns of Shekhawati are most developing places of Rajasthan some are Bggar, khandela, laxmangarh, pilani etc. Forts and castles, Horse safaris, havelis fairs , festivals like teej ,gangaur, and holi etc helps to attract tourists.

Shekhawati can be visited by plane, buses, cars train etc. Inside Shekhawati once can use car, taxi, rickshaw to visit the beautiful places. It would be better to travel in such vehicles because they are cheap and easy to use.
