Kumbhalgarh Fort is the second most popularly visited tourist fort of Rajasthan after Chittorgarh. Kumbhalgarh is a Mewar town in the Rajsamand District of Rajasthan state, constructed during the 15th century by Maharana Rana Kumbha, as the name derived. The fort is situated 64km north of Udaipur. Maharana Fateh Singh renovated the fort in 19th century.
Kumbhalgarh Fort is encircled by 13 mountain peak, and the walls of the fort extend to a length of 36km, rank second after Great Wall of China. The way to reach the fort is quite adventures through dark forest and narrow openings the hills. This way would take you to the Arait Pol, where you can trace the watch-tower and then Hulla Pol, Hanuman Pol, Ram Pol, Bhairava Pol, Paghra Pol, Top-khana Pol and Nimboo Pol will come across your track. The impregnable Fort boasts of seven massive gates, seven ramparts folded with one another with designed walls toughened by curved bastions and huge watch towers.
There are many places, gardens and temples especially Shiva temple whit a huge Shivalinga. Badal mahal or the Palace of Cloud is the birth place of Maharana Pratap, most beautiful and adorable place at the top of the Kumbhalgarh Fort.
