Hawa Mahal is a five storey, pyramid-shaped monument with beehive like architecture. Each windowpane has tiny holes and domed roofs with lynching cornices, gracefully modeled and engraved. The front wall makes Hawa Mahal appear more like a screen than a palace. Hawa Mahal is also popularly known as “Palace of Winds” There is 953 of those little windows that served as a gateway to a little glimpse of city life and, probably, freedom. Another chronological place worth visiting in this area is the Amer Palace.
Hawa Mahal is well connected by airlines, bus roads and railways. Tourists can reach Jaipur in plane too. There are well developed highways so they can travel by bus and cars motorcycle. Railways are also means to reach up to Jaipur. Tourists can reach Jaipur by any thing but to travel Hawa Mahal they have to hire taxi, camel, elephant, auto rickshaw, cycle rickshaw and local bus too. If tourists are free for many days then it would be better to choose camel and elephant which are late and fun to travel by otherwise car taxi and jeep is better. |
