Jaigarh Fort, located around 15 km from Jaipur, and is one of the most spectacular forts in India, with almost all its original facilities intact. It was built in 1726 by Jai Singh especially for safety purpose so when war comes they move from Amber to Jaigarh which is 3 km away from Amber. This is one of the mediaeval forts with military structure, extensive watch towers and fortified walls. The fort has biggest water tank capacity of 6 million galleries. From this point of view you can see Amber palace, old city of Amber and Jal Mahal too.
Among three forts in Jaipur, Jaigarh fort is most interesting one. Jaigarh fort has remarkable feat of military architecture and is believed to be the biggest cannon on wheels in the world. There are many interesting palace inside the fort such as Jaivana, Vijay Garh, Seven storied, Museum The palace complex, The Laxmi Vilas Palace and Rajasthan handicraft center. Falling under the golden triangle of India many visitors visit these places.
One can easily travel around the Jaigarh fort as there are many means of transportation. There are many private taxis which can be hired by people according to their budget, comfort, luxury and distance .Usually tourists prefer cycle rickshaw which is cheaper and can be used for short distance. Local buses also provide suitable and comfortable services and charge very nominal price but they don’t run on fix time. Auto rickshaw is also found all over the city. Traveling in Rajasthan has no problem as it offers different kinds of transports and makes your journey memorable and comfortable. |
