Jal Mahal - Rajasthan Travel Guide

The lake’s eco system is a favorite home for a number of migratory and resident birds. The Man Sagar Dam is situated on the eastern side of the lake and provides a good vantage point for viewing the lake and the valley. In the monsoons, it looks astonishing with its red stonework set alongside the water hyacinth crammed lake. The lake is often dry in the summer but winter monsoons regularly turns it into an attractive lake full with water hyacinths.

Jal Mahal is very beautiful palace which is in the middle of Man Sagar so to travel around the Jal Mahal it is better to hire boat. Boat is best means to travel and to reach up to the Jal Mahal you will have to take auto rickshaw, cycle rickshaw and taxi. Auto rickshaw is cheaper but you have to bargain the cost. Cycle rickshaw is nice and cheaper too but takes time to reach there.
