Junagarh Fort is an impressive fort in the city of Bikaner, Rajasthan. The fort was initially named Chintamani and was later called as Junagarh or "Old Fort" in the early 20th century when the ruling family moved to Lalgarh Palace. It is one of the few major forts in Rajasthan which was not build in hilltop. Junagarh fort of Rajasthan is an impressive monument, with huge towers and battlements for defenses. It is an unassailable fort of Rajasthan which has never been conquered though it has been attacked many times. Junagarh fort is formidable structure and encircled by a moat and has some beautiful palace within.

The palace inside fort are made by red sandstone and marble, make a picturesque ensemble of courtyards, balconies, kiosks and windows dotted all over the structure. The imposing fort of Rajasthan has 986 long walls with 37 bastions and two entrances. Junagarh Fort of Rajasthan contains 37 palaces and many temples and pavilions. The two important gates that lead to the stately Junagarh Fort in Bikaner of Rajasthan are known as Surajpol and Daulatpol. Junagarh has following building within they are Suraj Pol , Karan Mahal, Durga Niwas, Lal Niwas, Anup Mahal,Chandr mahal, Vikram Mahal and Fort Museum etc.

Anyone in Bikaner can easily travel all around, because there are enough means of transportation. One can easily hire a meter taxi according to their presence, easiness and luxury for long distance. Usually people like to travel in tangas and in auto rickshaw for short distance and it is the cheapest one, and tangas and rickshaws can be easily found anywhere in the Bikaner. Tanga is most popular among the tourists. Local buses are also available which are suitable but don’t run as per the fix time schedule. You don’t find any kind of problem related to transport because they provide you very memorable and comfort journey.
