Sariska National Park lies in the Aravalli hills and is the former hunting reserve of the Maharaja of Alwar. It is well nestled in the Aravalli Hills covering 800 sq km area divided into the grasslands, dry deciduous forests, sheer cliffs and rocky landscape. In the evenings, Indian Porcupine, Striped Hyena, Indian Palm Civet and even Leopard are sometimes seeing. The forests are lush during and immediately following the monsoon, but during the dry months of February and May. The Siliserh Lake on the border of the park has a huge number of crocodiles.
Sariska also provides asylum to sambar, chital, Nilgai, four horned antelope, wild boar and common languor. The Sariska National Park is home to India's largest population of peafowl, and harbors quail, sand grouse, golden- backed woodpeckers and crested serpent eagles, among other species. The remains of temples of Garh-Rajor of the 10th and 11th centuries tell the glorious past of this area. The hill-fort Kankwari stands as a guard of its ancient legacy. It also provides a bird's eye view of the valley below. The Sariska palace also provides excellent housing during your stay.
There are well-defined treks which can easily cover on foot. You can travel by jeep which is available around the park .You can take your personal taxi or car to visit the park. It is suggested to travel the ark in the morning or afternoon when numerous animals come n the outer surface in search of food and don’t forget to take your personal camera to capture the natural beauty.
