The Van Vihar National park is located in the heart of Bhopal city. 445.21 hectare degraded hill along with private Village land was initiated in 1980 and finally notified as a National Park in 1983. With the dedicated efforts of the Park management this area has now been transformed into heaven of greenery. In this national park animals are kept in their near natural habitats.
Although, having position of a National Park, the Van Vihar is developed and handled as a modern Zoological Park. There is lots of facility for tourists. There are 207 species of birds, 60 species of butterfly and several species of tortoise. Along with this there are many animals like tiger, leopard, hyena, sloth bear, gharial and crocodile and many more. There are rescue center for animals when they are in distress. There are Volunteer services for tourists. Visiting Van Vihar is very suitable and it is danger free. The tourists can visit in any time. There is some facility to students too.
Anyone can travel Van Vihar National Park in any time with out problem. You can travel there by bus train and plane. To visit around the park you don’t need any big means. In some portion you can travel on our foot. To travel inside the park to see animal’s you can travel by jeep. And you can go for an elephant safari which is very interesting. You can hire personal car, taxi it is depend upon you but you have to hire a proper guide who helps you too see properly and who take care too. |
